Burntwood Dragons 4- U 11 Girls 0
With Burntwood pushing for top spot in the league and Penkridge fighting to get off the bottom going into this match with a bare 7 was going to be really tough, but then on the morning of the match losing another player to illness, this was going to be an impossible task for the girls. First job was to find a volunteer goalkeeper and thanks to Chloe for stepping forward. As expected most of the play was in penkridge half but this seemed to spur on the girls to by far the best performance of the season , every one of them did a tremendous job. When the first goal went in after only 3 minutes the girls should have crumbled and then after a goalmouth scramble and Chloe believing she had saved a shot on the line the Burntwood supporters appealed for a goal from the other end of the pitch, the young ref hesitated then gave it !! From that point every girl battled their hearts out. Half time came 4 nil down. After a positive team talk from Alex and Ben the girls came out strong keeping the second half score to 0-0 and with a couple of good chances falling to Anna and Jodie, with good saves from their keeper keeping us out.
Well done girls
