Penkridge Ladies ran out comprehensive winners as they started there 2010/11 league campaign with an 11-0 victory away at Wednesfield on Saturday morning.

Penkridge were quick out the blocks creating early chances, it took just 4 minutes for the deadlock to be broken as Lisa Oakden raced onto a perfectly timed through ball to beat the on-coming Wednesfield Goalkeeper. Further first half goals from Olivia Thomas, Ellisha Busby (2) and another from Oakden ment Penkridge went into the break 5-0 up.

The second half started in the same manner as the first with Penkridge on the attack and only the Wednesfield Goalkeeper standing between them and a 6th goal. 15 minutes after the break the 6th goal that had earlier alluded them came as Captain Ellisha Busby fired home from an acute angle to complete her hat-trick, a 7th quickly followed as last seasons players player of the year Harriet Gibbons went on a run beating 4 defenders in the process before getting off the mark for the season Lisa Oakden then completed her second hat-trick in 3 days, Busby added 2 more with her 5th the pick of the bunch plus a late effort from Bethan Garland Ridding who worked tirelessly throughout completed the scoring for Penkridge.

The game marked the first of 25th year Penkridge Junior Football Club.
