Another FA Community Award for Penkridge Junior FC

Penkridge Junior FC pick up another award at the Staffordshire Football Associations Annual Awards.

The FA Community Awards are organised to recognise and reward clubs and volunteers from across the county for their achievements during the 2010/11 season. Winner of this years Volunteer of the Year went to Penkridge Junior’s Pete Spillard, on collecting the award Pete commented ‘I’m proud and honored to receive this award, we dont do this for reward or recognition as the rewards are clear to see every weekend on a football pitch…..but it is nice when the FA and our clubs do recognise the effort that all volunteers put in week in week out to help kids and junior football in our local community’

Each of the winners had been nominated for their awards earlier in the year and the Staffordshire FA had the difficult decision of selecting the winners from a huge list of nominations,

Charters Standard Community Club of the Year – Wyrley Juniors
Charters Standard Development Club of the Year – Leek CSOB
Charters Standard Club of the Year – Stafford Falcons
Volunteer of the Year – Peter Spillard (Penkridge Junior FC)
Young Volunteer of the Year – Viki Lear (Cheadle Town FC)
Coach of the Year – Matt Merrick (Walsall Phoenix FC)
Outstanding Contribution to Community Football – Peter Fowler (Mid Staffs Junior League)
Respect Fair Play Award – Chase Athletic Junior FC
Respect Fair Play Award – Stafford Town Girls FC

It was also announced on the night that Wyrley Juniors have also won the Regional and National Charter Standard Community Club of the Year awards.
