Penkridge U 11 girls v Stafford town

It was a cold cold morning with the grass all frosty looking, the sun was rising and this was our 2nd time coming face to face with Stafford Town. Our previous meeting we lost 9-1 or was it 10-1 oh well that was in the past and we look to the future.

All the girls where worried that we where going to lose. we only had 6 players and no subs(still), the girls were told to hold their own and play the best they could. Mel in goals, Evie and Jade(captain) in defence, Darcy in midfield and Katie and holy up front.

Stafford town started with the kick-off and straight away Penkridge attacked the ball winning possession and going for goal. 3-5 attempts later and Holly scored the first goal, this giving them great confidence half time came with another 2 goals from Penkridge taking us 3-0 up. Penkridge started the kick off 2nd half and Stafford Town came out really strong and after a few minutes getting a goal back 3-1. but penkridge didn’t want to lose the lead so again started off attacking Jade took a shot and hit the cross-bar and then Holly scored again making it 4-1 a well deserved win for the girls. both teams played very well.  It’s great to see how well the girls are now working together as a team and fingers crossed will go on to win many more games.

Congratulations to Teresa (Jades mom) for the new arrival of a baby boy hope all goes well.
